How an order works

From your list to your door in four steps

You can follow each step in the app, and the courier has your phone number in case they cannot find your door.

Send your list
Choose a shop in the app and write what you need the way you would for a friend: the brand, the size, and what to buy if it is out of stock. For take-away, write the meal as it appears on the menu.

A shopper buys it
A Doorstep shopper goes to the shop, picks your items and pays at the till. You see the order move from placed to being shopped in the app.

You see the total
The shopper enters the till total. The app shows it with the delivery fee, so you know the exact amount before anything reaches your door.

A courier brings it
A courier from the Leeto network collects the shopping and brings it to you. The app shows their name with a button to call them, and you pay when it arrives.

Milk and bread before work, a month of groceries for the family, or nappies at short notice. Write substitutes against items so the shopper knows what to do when a shelf is empty.

What it costs

The till price, plus a delivery fee by distance

The delivery fee depends on how far you are from the shop. When you share your location in the app it works the fee out exactly; without it the app shows M 50 and the shopper confirms the fee with your total. There is no service charge and no markup on the items.

Where we deliver

Maseru and the surrounding villages. Give your area and a landmark the courier will recognise, such as a church, a school or the colour of your gate. Sharing your location pins the exact spot, which helps in places without street names.

How you pay

Pay the courier in cash when your order arrives. M-Pesa and EcoCash payments inside the app are built and will be switched on once Doorstep's own merchant accounts are open. The app will show the new options on its own when they are.

Couriers

Deliveries are carried by drivers on the Leeto network

Leeto is the ride and delivery network Softserve runs in Maseru. Its team reviews each driver's identity documents before approving them, and drivers on cars, motorbikes, scooters and bicycles can carry Doorstep orders. If you have your own transport and would like to deliver, sign up in the Leeto Driver app.

Our story

Doorstep has delivered in Maseru before

Joel Makara and Tsietsi Senaoana started Doorstep Deliveries in 2015. Customers ordered on a website, paid by M-Pesa or EcoCash, and a driver shopped at Pick n Pay, Shoprite or KFC and brought the order to their door. Orders were tracked on a spreadsheet and drivers were dispatched by phone.

The service paused in 2018. It is back in 2026 with an app for customers, an operations desk that prices every basket before it leaves the shop, and couriers from the Leeto network. We are starting in Maseru and will widen the area as the number of couriers grows.

Which shops can I order from?

Pick n Pay, Shoprite and KFC are listed in the app, and you can name any other shop in Maseru by choosing Another shop. If we cannot buy from the shop you named, we will tell you before anything is bought.

Do you charge more than the shop does?

No. You pay the price on the shop's till slip, plus the delivery fee for your distance. Ask the courier for the slip when your order arrives.

How do I pay?

In cash to the courier when your order arrives. M-Pesa and EcoCash payment inside the app is built and will be switched on once Doorstep's own merchant accounts are open.

What if something is out of stock?

Write a substitute against the item when you order. If there is no note, the shopper leaves the item out and it is not part of your total.

Can I change or cancel an order?

You can cancel in the app until the shopper starts. After that, contact us and we will do what we can before the shopping is paid for.
